Field Service Test Engineer
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Field Service Test Engineer to join our innovative client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands, on a full-time, permanent basis.

Working times:
Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm (39 hours per week, with occasional weekend work)
Salary:
£32,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience; exceptional experience may expand this range)

Day-to-day duties:
As a Field Service Test Engineer, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Building and servicing friction welding machines at the Kingswinford facility
Troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites
Reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Working with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and multi-axis servo-hydraulic systems
Repairing motor control centres, electrical motors, PLCs (Allen Bradley / Siemens / Rockwell) and VFDs
Minor robot repair and programming tasks
Preparing and maintaining professional technical documentation
Collaborating with team members to solve complex technical issues
Providing professional and effective customer service
Occasional weekend work
“On call” work with prior notice (candidates will not receive customer calls during off hours)
Overtime when required, particularly when onsite at customer facilities
Essential skills:
To be successful as a Field Service Test Engineer, you will need:
Proven mechanical and electrical experience, including troubleshooting of electromechanical systems
Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills
Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell) and VFDs
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and servo control systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional approach to customer service
Flexibility to travel internationally
Willingness to work onsite when not servicing customers
Residence within 40 minutes of Kingswinford
Desirable experience:
Experience with friction welding machines or similar high-precision industrial equipment
Familiarity with robotic repair and programming
Hands-on experience with complex technical systems and commissioning
Training:
Full industry-related training will be provided, with ongoing support throughout your career.
