Part Time Hourly Paid (£40.71ph plus HP) Fixed term
We are: looking to expand our team of lecturers for the Bachelor of Education (Music) and PGDE Secondary (Music) programmes by recruiting experienced and passionate individuals with a specialism in Music Education.
You will:
• contribute to the development of relevant programmes across the Conservatoire, and to the methods of delivery
• support students during school placements by undertaking supervision, liaising with school staff and carrying out placement assessment visits.
You are:
• a motivated and experienced individual, with a high level of planning and organizational skills
• able to inspire and motivate learners to achieve success
• a successful and experienced music teacher with current and relevant experience of teaching music in a school
• an accomplished multi-instrumentalist able to support developing teachers preparing for classroom teaching
• invested in the future of music education and the development of initial teacher education
• an experienced mentor and coach able to support student teachers through placements
• able to articulate feedback with support, honesty and integrity
• aware of current trends and developments in Scottish education
You must: be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) as a secondary music teacher, it is desirable that you have experience of teaching Music Technology in the secondary classroom.
Please note – hours will be based on your availability and the needs of the programme on a part time hourly paid basis. Availability to undertake student placement visits during the working week is essential and the format of this will be discussed on an individual basis. Secondments for full-time teaching staff cannot be considered at this time.
