We’re Müller UK & Ireland, a family-run dairy business and we’re experts at what we do. Dairy is a key part of a healthy and balanced diet and we’re super proud to help meet the nutritional needs of millions of people, every, single, day. To do this, our business has been split into two areas: Müller Milk & Ingredients (MMI) and Müller Yogurt & Desserts (MYD).

We’re Müller UK & Ireland — part of a family-owned business that employs over 26,000 people across Europe. In the UK, we work with 1,500 British farmers to create some of the nation’s favourite dairy products, including Müller Milk, Butter, Müller Corner, Müller Rice, and Müller Light.

What’s the Role?
As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you’ll join our Manufacturing Academy and learn everything you need to become a skilled Technical Operator. That means:
• Operating machinery and keeping production lines running smoothly
• Spotting and fixing faults
• Learning about food safety, hygiene, and quality control
• Understanding how ingredients move through our supply chain
• Working as part of a team to make products people love
You’ll be based at one of our UK Dairies:
Manchester, Skelmersdale, Market Drayton, Telford, Minsterley, Droitwich, Severnside & Bridgwater — and get hands-on experience both on the production floor and through project work. We’ll provide you with all the support you need to be the best you can be. We'll give you training, invest in your skills and offer you the next rung on your career ladder. We aim to empower our employees to be the best they can be – at Müller the sky’s the limit.
What To Expect?
During your apprenticeship:
You’ll work towards a Level 3 Food & Drink Technical Operator qualification, delivered by the University of Lincoln. Training takes place over three block weeks each year — and don’t worry, we’ll cover your travel, accommodation, and living expenses while you’re there.
This role includes shift work and some weekends (depending on your age), so flexibility is key.
You will also benefit from:
1. £18,500 starting salary, with a pay rise after your first year
2. 40 hours per week, with some shift work (age dependent)
What will you need?
3. Grade 5s at band C or above in English & Maths
4. Be 16 or older and living in the UK
5. Not currently in full-time education
6. Willingness to travel for training or project work (we’ll cover expenses)
