About Us
Adept Sussex Limited is a growing contractor specialising in adaptations, wet rooms and building projects. We are committed to delivering high-quality service and building long-term relationships with our clients.
The Role
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team and play a key role in supporting our growth and profitability.
● The majority of our pricing is produced using established prebuilds and templates, which you'll apply consistently to ensure accuracy, efficiency and margin protection.
● You'll be responsible for ensuring sufficient quoting throughput to meet turnover targets.
● As the Estimator is often the first person a customer meets, this role also represents the face of Adept Sussex and requires professionalism, communication skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare accurate quotations for adaptations, wet rooms and building works using SimPro.
● Issue quotes within agreed timeframes to maintain workflow and cashflow.
● Liaise with Project Managers, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify requirements and obtain competitive prices.
● Monitor quoting workload against turnover targets.
● Support the Commercial Director with approvals for complex or high-value jobs.
● Continuously review and improve accuracy of quotes to protect margin.
What We're Looking For
● Experience in estimating within building, adaptations or related trades.
● Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
● Commercial awareness and an understanding of how quoting drives turnover and profit.
● Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
● IT literacy (SimPro or similar software desirable).
● Positive, proactive mindset with genuine drive to hit targets.
● Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle (required for quote survey visits).
● Desirable: knowledge of adaptations, experience with prebuilds/templates.
What We Offer
● A positive and collaborative working environment that we are proud of.
● Competitive salary with performance-related bonus linked to turnover and margin.
● Company pension scheme.
● 28 days holiday (including bank holidays).
● Opportunities to help shape future processes and systems as we continue to grow.
● Potential for increased responsibility as the business grows and performance is proven.
