We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of a Design Engineer. The ideal candidate should possess expertise and experience in the skill sets mentioned below.
Skill Requirements:
1. Knowledge of design of different types of automotive systems and subsystems.
2. Good knowledge on parts and system level interfaces.
3. Failure analysis and problem-solving skills.
4. Exposure to moulding, sheet metal, mouldings, castings, and forging component design and development.
5. Familiar with engineering change management systems.
6. Collaborate within the team for integrated solutions to meet customer quality and timeline expectations.
7. Participate in internal and customer reviews to ensure adherence to expectations and guidelines.
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience:
1. Ability to take ownership of components from Concept to Production.
2. Ability to spin around CAD geometries - Catia V5 or Catia V6 is advantageous / any CAD background considerable.
3. Proficiency with G.D&T.
4. Strong electro-mechanical engineering fundamentals would be a plus.
5. Technically proficient in make to print, process engineering fundamentals, adhering to engineering specifications will be an add-on trait.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial, Production Engineering or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
1. Strong communication and presentation skills, project management skills.
2. Proficient in software: Catia and PLM systems.
3. Valid UK Driving license.
4. Ability to visit around the suppliers on a need basis.
Experience: 1 - 3 years of experience in Automotive OEMs, Tier 1, and Service Industry exposure.
Location: Coventry, UK (Flexible to work across different customer locations within UK)
Salary: As per the market standards.
Hybrid work: YES/3 days from Coventry office.
