My client, an established and award-winning services business with a well-known client base, is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day finance function.
The company operates from its offices in City Centre Birmingham.
As Finance Manager, reporting to the Head of Finance based in Birmingham, you will:
1. Be responsible for finance operations, including job costing, sales and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, and credit control.
2. Own the delivery of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations.
3. Review and improve existing finance processes and controls.
4. Support the production of VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
5. Assist in year-end audit preparation and delivery.
6. Manage, support, and guide the Accounts Assistant.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Be either a fully qualified or qualified by experience accountant.
2. Have demonstrable experience from practice (first mover applications welcomed) or industry (preferably in a fast-paced or client-facing environment).
3. Be confident working with Excel and finance systems, ideally Sage 50.
The role offers up to £50,000 per annum plus benefits, with 2 days per week working from the Birmingham office.
