Architectural Technician Location: Manchester Salary: £30,000 £38,000 per annum Working Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday About the Company: We are a busy in-house commercial property consultancy providing strategic design and development support to a major UK property investor and developer. Our team manages a diverse commercial portfolio exceeding 2 million sq. ft., including office buildings and new-build industrial developments, primarily across the North West of England. Working closely with a trusted network of consultants, contractors, and supply chain partners, we deliver innovative, high-quality commercial developments and refurbishment projects tailored to modern business needs. The Role: We are looking for an Architectural Technician to join our growing design team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stage of their architectural career who is keen to develop their technical skills within a fast-paced commercial property environment. You will support the design team with the preparation, coordination, and management of technical drawings and project documentation for both new-build and refurbishment projects across the commercial and industrial sectors. The role will involve assisting with design development, producing detailed drawings, and ensuring projects meet planning requirements, building regulations, and technical specifications. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings using AutoCAD Support senior team members in producing detailed construction drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and schedules Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure designs meet structural and regulatory requirements Research and apply relevant building regulations, codes, materials, and construction methods Prepare documentation for planning submissions, building regulations approvals, and tender packages Assist with site visits and surveys, recording measurements and documenting existing conditions Maintain organised drawing files, technical specifications, and project documentation Participate in project meetings and collaborate with the wider design and development team Qualifications & Skills: Degree or relevant qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Architectural Technician studies min. 3 years experience working in Architecture Proficiency in AutoCAD Understanding of construction methods and building detailing Knowledge of planning processes and building regulations Strong technical drawing and drafting skills High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Good communication and teamwork abilities Willingness to learn, develop, and take direction from senior staff Desirable Experience: Knowledge of sustainable design principles Understanding of BREEAM standards Experience with Revit Exposure to project management tools or development workflows What We Offer: £30,000 £38,000 salary, depending on experience Opportunity to work on large-scale commercial and industrial development projects Hands-on experience within an in-house development environment Supportive team environment with opportunities for career development Exposure to the full lifecycle of commercial property projects
