Continental Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CE & MEA)

The Role
Reporting to the
EMEA Compensation & Benefits Director
, you will execute the regional benefits strategy and roadmap, ensuring programs are aligned with business priorities, local market practices, and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with internal partners and external vendors, bringing insight, accountability, and a continuous‑improvement mindset to everything you do.
What You'll Do
* Execute and evolve the Continental Europe & MEA benefits strategy, ensuring alignment with Illumina's values, regional priorities, and business goals.
* Analyse data, market trends, and stakeholder input to recommend and implement enhancements that are impactful, cost‑effective, and employee‑centric.
* Project manage benefits launches in new countries, delivering high‑quality outcomes in line with organizational priorities.
* Lead annual benefit renewals, including vendor negotiations and detailed data analysis to ensure programs remain competitive, compliant, and sustainable.
* Manage broker and vendor relationships, holding partners accountable for performance and value while seeking opportunities to improve service and outcomes.
* Design and deliver engaging benefits communications and campaigns that help employees understand and make the most of their benefits.
* Oversee benefits delivery across allocated countries, ensuring consistent quality, strong governance, and positive employee experience.
* Collaborate closely with the EMEA Benefits Day‑to‑Day Process Lead, focusing on process design while shared services manage operational delivery and employee queries.
* Partner with HR, payroll, procurement, finance, legal, country leaders, and works councils, working inclusively across cultures and geographies to deliver seamless solutions.
* Share insights, trends, and recommendations with the EMEA Compensation & Benefits Director and wider team to support data‑driven future planning.
* Contribute to EMEA‑wide wellbeing and engagement initiatives, identifying opportunities to tailor and enhance them for the CE & MEA region.
What You'll Bring
* Experience reviewing, designing, and delivering benefits programs, with the curiosity and flexibility to learn country‑specific requirements across CE & MEA.
* Proven experience leading benefit renewals and vendor negotiations.
* A track record of improving processes and driving operational efficiency.
* Experience with benefits benchmarking and design, working with brokers and market data.
* Strong business acumen, with the ability to align benefits solutions to organisational goals.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, engaging benefits communications.
* Strong analytical capability, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related tools.
* Excellent organisation and project management skills, with attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
* A collaborative, inclusive approach, with the ability to work effectively across cultures, regions, and stakeholder groups.
Education & Industry Experience
* A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not essential.
* Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, technology, or medical devices is beneficial but not required.
