The At Home with Age UK Service is part of Age UK Bath and North East Somerset’s Home Services department.
Our Wellbeing Support Workers can assist people to continue living independently and safely in their own homes. We aim to improve a person’s overall wellbeing through the provision of domestic, practical, social and emotional support.
There is an hourly charge for this service which is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm in and around Keynsham, Bath or Somer Valley.
There is no personal care or administration of medication involved in this role.
Key tasks provided by the Wellbeing Support Workers:
• Practical support including housework, laundry, ironing, meal preparation, assisting with correspondence and paying bills, taking people to appointments, shopping or on social outings.
• Emotional support through active listening, reassurance and encouragement.
• Social support by signposting people to other appropriate Age UK services and other sources of support within their local community
• Always remain alert to any changes in the person’s condition and take appropriate action as directed; report back promptly to At Home Service Lead if you have any concerns.
• Wellbeing Support Workers will use a mobile phone app to access their caseload and keep in touch with the Service Coordinators thought their shift. Daily activity including the support provided and details of any onward referrals are reported through the app. It captures accurate records of hours worked and travel expenses incurred.
