Description:
You will be required to perform pro-active and reactive maintenance on electro-mechanical processing and packaging machinery therefore a multiskilled engineering background is essential. A strong ability to apply troubleshooting techniques to maintain the smooth running of the production process and uphold the highest quality standards. Work as part of a team and as an individual in a fast-paced maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion a strong safety culture by consistently following all Health & Safety policies and best practices.
* Take ownership of both reactive and proactive maintenance across a wide range of packaging and processing equipment.
* Deliver scheduled maintenance, PPMs, and targeted reactive work to keep operations running smoothly.• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime and protect production output.
* Partner closely with Line Leaders and Production teams to drive efficiency and keep performance on track
* Maintain clear, accurate documentation to build reliable historical records of maintenance activity and equipment performance.
* Keep all paperwork and CMMS data fully updated, ensuring the department operates with complete visibility.
* Identify spare‑parts needs and manage stock levels to support uninterrupted operations.• Work safely and responsibly at all times, actively reducing risk to yourself and others.• Collaborate with production teams to maximise line uptime and support seamless workflow.
* Communicate technical and operational issues promptly and clearly to the right teams to enable fast resolution.
* Participate in maintenance handovers, update information boards, and share insights, learnings, and next‑step requirements.
* Lead improvement projects from concept to completion, delivering results on time and driving continuous progress.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
* ONC/HNC/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering or Maintenance.
* Hands‑on experience working with processing and packaging machinery in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
* Solid understanding of PLC systems and inspection camera technologies, with the ability to diagnose and resolve controls issues.
* Proven background in Production or Process Maintenance Engineering within complex manufacturing operations, ideally MedTech or Pharmaceutical.
* Experience working with inverters, servo systems, and DC drives.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess technical problems, develop effective solutions, and implement them through structured plans.
