BBC Studios is the commercial arm of the BBC, which looks for ways to make money from the BBC's brilliant IP. In this division of BBC Studios, we operate various BBC branded TV channels and streaming players around the world. As a data scientist in this team, you would enable teams to understand audience consumption patterns, predict performance and identify which levers teams can pull to maximise the performance of the global channels and players.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
As a Data Scientist apprentice (DSD26), this is brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute - you will:
Be part of a team using data to transform the way BBC Studios operates.
Learn about the value of data to organisations like BBC Studios.
Discover how BBC Studios uses data to improve its connection with audiences.
Source, cleanse and validate data to make sure it is accurate, and unlock the power to delivery valuable audience insights.
Work on data models to predict performance, and to build data visualisation tools to enable projects to become part of Editorial, Marketing and Commercial teams' day-to-day toolkit for better decision making.
You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you'll spend at least one day a week studying for a BSc (Hons) in Data Science with BPP University remotely learning:
Data Infrastructure & Tools.
Data Visualisation & Dashboards.
Data Engineering.
Data Analytics.
Project Management.
Machine Learning.
Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:
Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
To apply for this scheme, you must also:
Have maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or equivalent qualification.
Have achieved, or expected to achieve, by the start of the scheme, a minimum of 104 UCAS points. This should include A Level/Higher Maths, or an extended BTEC in Engineering with Engineering Maths, or an equivalent qualification.
Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level.
