Each year over 70,000 wax garments are sent back to Barbour globally to be repaired, rewaxed or altered.
Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for Global Visual Merchandising Manager to join our Marketing team based in South Shields or London. This role will focus on setting the global Visual Merchandising direction of the brand to drive brand experience and presence across showrooms, wholesale spaces and Barbour retail stores (incl franchise partners). You will be responsible for creating global visual projects within the global Marketing department, and supporting localisation across the world including showrooms, windows, pop-ups, shoplifts and retail. Working closely with design, marketing, and commercial teams both centrally and regionally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Create global Visual Merchandising guidelines to be used across wholesale, retail, and franchise stores, creating clear and identifiable brand experiences across the market.
* Management of the global mock shop ensuring fixtures are updated and seasonal VM is shot on time and in full for global sell out.
* Support the regional VM teams reviewing localised VM for store and pop ups, training the regional teams on seasonal collection, campaigns and ensuring VM standards and principles are upheld at all times.
* Support category level VM focuses each season and ensure guidance and fixtures are commercially viable to support business growth.
* Work closely with the International Display Manager, ensuring relevant product requirements are supported during the design phase of Shopfit, space planning, display tools and fixtures .
* Create segmented and tiered display playbook across independents, department stores and retail stores, aligned to the collection segmentation strategy.
* Supporting retail store planning at sell-in and sell-out with store turns aligned to product drops, money mapping and training store teams.
* Support design and set-up of store openings and international flagship openings, and special wholesale projects internationally.
* Supporting international VM leads with guidance on appropriate local adaptation.
* Working closely with the Shopfit and Brand experience Manager, support the development of the global Shopfit programmes.
* Manage and implement seasonal VM concept for global showroom at head office, and support implementation across UK and international showrooms with guidelines and localisation guidance.
* Create and manage seasonal model store for global store manager roll-out.
* Collation of global VM reports on a monthly basis.
* Conduct and share market research on a quarterly basis to keep abreast of competitor activity, the latest sustainable materials, and inspire new ideas for VM direction
Skills and Experience:
* Degree level education preferred in creative display and store experience.
* Experience working in-market role and global directional role for a fashion/retail brand.
* Experience of similar organisations, ideally with a clothing lifestyle brand.
* Highly creative but able to work within the brand vision, and effectively communicate that vision to global teams (marketing, product and commercial)
* Demonstrates high standards of organisation, planning and attention to detail.
* Comfortable with team work or working independently.
* Self-motivated and able to demonstrate a flexible approach and attitude to workload and working hours.
* Information Technology including: Adobe design programmes, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel & Internet packages
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with presentation skills to build strong relationships internally and externally.
* Interested and knowledgeable in fashion and show an affinity towards premium brands.
