Job summary
Working as a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist in our Community CAMHS Learning Disability Team involves working with children and young people diagnosed with moderate to severe learning disabilities, along with their families, carers, staff teams, including schools and other health and social care professionals. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that adopts a person-centred approach to improve quality of life, emotional wellbeing, and reduce challenging behaviours. Key responsibilities include liaison, supervision, formulation, and consultation, with opportunities to develop diverse skills. The role involves assessment, formulation, and intervention for children with additional mental health needs. The team facilitates learning across clinical disciplines, offering experience in teaching, supervision, research, service development, and innovation. Main duties of the job
To provide a clinical psychology service to children and adolescents with complex psychological problems and their families across all care sectors, through supportive multidisciplinary collaboration. The post holder will deliver specialist psychological assessments, formulation, and therapy, as well as advise and consult on psychological care to colleagues and non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience (Essential):
* Experience as a psychologist working with children in clinical or community settings.
* Experience working with young children with severe emotional/behavioural difficulties.
* Full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, including multi-agency care plans.
* Experience in teaching, training, and supervision.
* Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 & 2004.
* Experience working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
Training and Education (Essential):
* Post-graduate doctoral training in clinical psychology.
* Eligibility for HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development per BPS guidelines.
* Training in supervision.
Knowledge and Abilities (Essential):
* Experience working with children in inpatient or community settings as a registered clinical psychologist.
* Experience with children with severe emotional/behavioural difficulties.
* Full clinical responsibility within multi-disciplinary care contexts.
* Experience with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
Desirable:
* Experience in teaching, training, supervision.
