About Us
The Council’s Licensing Section, based within the Public Protection Service are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join a busy team with responsibility for a range of licensing functions.
To be successful in this role you need a good working knowledge of Local Authority licensing functions, have excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills and be willing to work unsociable hours.
It is desirable for applicants to have experience of working within a field of law enforcement and have a working knowledge of PACE.
You will have a responsibility for:
Private hire/hackney carriage licensing
Licensing functions under the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005
Street trading
Street and house to house collections
In addition, you will be expected to provide admin support and provide advice and assistance to members of the public and the licensing trade on all aspects of licensing legislation.
