Job Title: Health Physics Surveyor – Radiation Monitoring & Safety Location: Thurso, United Kingdom (Onsite, Full-Time) Contract Type: 12-Month Contract Pay Rate: £16.23–£20.79/hour (PAYE) | £22.27–£28.53/hour (Umbrella) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Health Physics Surveyor to support radiation safety operations within a regulated industrial environment. The role involves monitoring work areas, equipment, and materials to ensure compliance with radiation protection standards and maintain a safe workplace for all personnel. Key Responsibilities Conduct radiological surveys of workplaces, tools, and materials following approved procedures. Record and report monitoring results accurately and on schedule. Identify and advise on potential radiological risks, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Select, calibrate, and operate radiation monitoring instruments appropriate to each task. Maintain, test, and troubleshoot radiation protection and dosimetry equipment. Perform air and duct sampling, filter changes, and contamination checks. Manage dosimetry for personnel entering controlled radiation areas. Mentor and support trainee surveyors to promote best safety practices. Strong understanding of safety regulations and documentation procedures. SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain). Additional Information Full-time onsite position with possible shift work and emergency response duties. Travel and subsistence allowance available for non-local candidates.
