Mechanical Design Engineer — Location: Accrington (On-site)
Join a specialist engineering team designing and delivering advanced, bespoke machinery used across multiple industries. This is a hands-on mechanical design role where you\'ll take concepts from initial idea through to manufacture, test and customer delivery.

What You\'ll Be Doing
* Creating conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for bespoke machinery.
* Ensuring compliance with Machinery Directive and relevant standards.
* Carrying out Risk Assessments, FMEA and engineering calculations.
* Supporting design reviews and contributing to technical discussions.
* Preparing required technical and legislative documentation.
* Liaising with customers and suppliers on project requirements.
* Producing content for operation and maintenance manuals.
* Designing components suitable for cost-effective manufacture.
* Supporting mechanical build teams during assembly, testing and commissioning.
* Providing customer support when needed.
* Promoting safe working practices across all engineering activities.
What We\'re Looking For
* Mechanical design experience within machinery, automation or bespoke equipment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and calculations.
* Experience with FEA, risk assessment and FMEA.
* Knowledge of Machinery Directive compliance.
* Confident working with cross-functional engineering teams.
* Strong communication skills, including customer and supplier liaison.
* CAD proficiency and experience designing for manufacture (DFM).
