Are you passionate about managing the delivery of quality digital services and experiences for customers? Are you a seasoned IT Project Manager experienced in delivering digital development or cloud-based projects on time, to budget and to quality?
The role
As Senior IT Project Manager, you will report into the Head of Solutions Development and Delivery and be responsible for managing transformational IT projects. You will contribute to support and govern the SRA's Project Management methodology, processes and standards and lead a team of Project Managers, enabling them to perform at their very best.
You will oversee key strategic project(s) that could include work within the Consumer Protection Review and the Risk and Data programmes, as well as 'Futures' projects. You will be operating as a Senior Project Manager to enable delivery as the Technical workstream lead across large and complex projects, as well as leading your own projects within the IT portfolio, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.
You will need to:
* Direct and matrix management of teams to motivate and ensure that performance is continuously improved
* Manage project definitions, resources, quality and budgets
* Ensure that you and the team's allocated projects contribute positively to the SRA's business strategy
* Demonstrable experience of delivering technical change, ideally with CRM, enterprise and/or new system and solution implementation
* Lead both your team, and the associated technical teams of your projects
* Communicate complex information across the business often to non-technical or senior stakeholders to achieve organisation objectives
* Engage, influence and demonstrate gravitas with sponsors, senior managers and Executives to ensure projects deliver the agreed business objectives and outcomes
* Support the IT Management Team in KPI reporting, proactively identify and manage issues and risks, recommend appropriate project methodologies
* Collaborate effectively with other lead Project manager leads to support the aims of the project/programmes of work
* Carry out detailed planning alongside RAID ((Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management
* Engage with business and technical leads to determine requirements that are conveyed to suppliers. Manage and maintain relationship with external resources, including Statements of Work and management of delivery of solutions.
* Provide internal assurance on adherence to SRA's Project Management methodology, etc., reporting all inconsistencies and anomalies
* As a key decision maker within the IT organisation, working with all relevant stakeholders to agree best delivery options, resolutions to issues and risks, whilst appropriately managing decisions thereby avoiding unnecessary escalations
* As a senior, support the objectives of the Solutions Development & Delivery extended management team.
* Works alongside the Head of Solutions Development and Delivery to resource approved projects, from initiation to transition into BAU in line with the forward plan and product roadmaps and deputise for the Head of Solutions Development and Delivery when required

* Experience in Change /Business Improvement with a track record of delivering technical solutions in tool adoption and ways of working
* Tangible senior stakeholder management experience and skills with the ability to build relationships and influence across the business.
* Experience of managing external consultants/suppliers under a statement of works (SOW) and/or call-off frameworks.
* Strong project management skills including dealing with several projects, workstreams and stakeholders with competing deadlines and priorities
* Professional qualifications e.g. Programme Management, APMP, Prince2 in practitioner Levels, Agile PM.
* Ability to plan proactively, can do attitude and strong attention to detail
* Outstanding communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages to different levels of audience

This is a hybrid role and will be based in our Birmingham office 1 to 2 days a week, and from home the rest of the week.
