Business Development Manager

We're now entering an exciting new phase, investing in marketing, CRM, product innovation and go-to-market strategy, and we're looking for a driven Business Development Manager to help accelerate our next stage of growth.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of new business generation across the UK, with a particular focus on Garden Centres and related retail sectors.
This is a true hunter role; building pipeline, creating opportunities and converting them into long-term client partnerships. You'll represent Davidson Richards at industry events, client sites and remote demonstrations, driving deals from first conversation through to signed contract and project handover.
Success in this role is measured against seasonal and annual targets, supported by a competitive commission structure.
What You'll Be Doing
Owning and managing a strong sales pipeline within the EPOS domain
Driving new business development, particularly across Garden Centres and similar retail sectors
Planning and executing targeted campaigns with Marketing
Independently sourcing and generating qualified opportunities
Representing ClearCourse Retail at events, client meetings and demos
Managing the full sales cycle: discovery, demo, proposal, negotiation and handover
Supporting account management post-sale to ensure strong client relationships
Developing third-party partnerships to enhance solution offerings
Speaking at industry events and supporting case study development
Gaining in-depth product knowledge to confidently present solutions
Providing accurate weekly forecasts and consistently achieving sales targets
What We're Looking For
A proven track record of achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets within EPOS solutions
Experience selling into Garden Centres or similar retail industries
Strong new business and pipeline generation capability
Full sales cycle experience from prospecting through to contract
CRM discipline and accurate forecasting ability
A solid understanding of retail software and ideally payment solutions
Desirable: knowledge of retail hardware (EPOS tills, scanners, printers)
Strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial mindset
Confidence delivering professional presentations to senior stakeholders
