Overview
We are excited to offer a salaried GP vacancy to join our team. We can offer 6-8 sessions per week initially on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027 with potential for extension and a possibility of a permanent post thereafter.
Responsibilities
In accordance with the practice rota, the post‑holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries. They will also carry out home visits for housebound patients, check and sign repeat prescriptions, review clinical documentation, manage long‑term conditions, and process administrative tasks such as referrals and repeat prescription requests.
Patient consultations involve assessing and examining patients with a range of health concerns, taking detailed histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests as required, and providing treatment plans that include prescribing medications and lifestyle advice. Follow‑up care and post‑treatment monitoring are required, as are care plans for chronic or long‑term conditions and health promotion activities.
Documentation and record keeping must be maintained in electronic health records, in compliance with regulatory and professional standards. The GP will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend regular clinical meetings and audits, and contribute to clinical leadership and development, including ongoing professional education.
The post‑holder will also perform administrative duties such as referral letters and reports, attend practice meetings, patient reviews, audits, and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safeguarding policies, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications
* Qualified GP with Full GMC registration – National Performers List registration in England with eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
* Experience with SystmOne electronic system.
* Experience across a full range of Enhanced Services delivered.
* Good familiarity with local and national guidance and clinical guidelines.

We are a friendly GMS training practice based in the Beeston area of Leeds, operating from two sites with a patient population over 19,000. We offer a competitive salary of £10,500–£11,500 per session depending on experience and enrolment into the NHS Pension scheme. The practice has a strong nursing team, includes a Nurse Practitioner, ACP, and Practice Matron, and runs training for Registrars and FY2s.
