About You
We are seeking a visionary, dynamic, and inspiring leader to develop and lead our English curriculum. You will be a champion for diversity and inclusion, working not only to deliver high-quality teaching and learning but also to motivate and empower our students to pursue English with confidence and expertise.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our students by leading the design and delivery of the curriculum.
You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of pedagogy and personalisation strategies and be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring and evaluating whilst improving the standard of achievement for all students. You will be confident in your abilities to teach effectively at all key stages and a specialism in English is essential. You will be adept in creating a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for students of all diverse backgrounds.

English at SGHS
English sits within our English and Communications Faculty. The faculty currently consists of ten members of staff: the Learning Director, two Curriculum Leaders (one English, one Psychology), two full-time and three part-time English specialists and one further Psychology specialist.
Staff and students benefit from cross curricula conversation, the sharing of good practice and a team based mutual support system.
Students are bright and enthusiastic and are encouraged to maintain a very high standard of work; while developing the skills and creativity they need to be independent and self-regulated learners, preparing them for examinations and future careers.
