Unlicensed Aseptics Stock Control Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a stock controller supervisor in the unlicensed aseptic pharmacy services department. This newly developed role places you at the forefront of managing stocks to ensure medications are accurately procured and stocked, making them readily available for our chemotherapy patients. You will also be expected to minimise and reduce wastage and expenditure. This is a permanent role and requires a Level 2 GPHC recognised qualification which will be fulfilled through full training and development.
The position requires participation in a weekend and bank holiday rota.
Main duties
* Daily stock checks and investigation of stock discrepancies
* Daily and weekly ordering of drugs
* Chasing outstanding orders
* Ensuring stock rotation and expiry date checks are completed and maintained
* Recording the receipt of drugs
* Wearing appropriate PPE as required by department policy
* Undergoing training and validations as per department policy
* Dispensing oral medication and outsourced products
* Collecting medications/stock from other areas within pharmacy
* Attending stock meetings
* Cleaning storage areas
* Dispensing chemotherapy medication
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in Maths and English, or a proven equivalent level qualification
* GPHC-approved Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy services, or currently working towards it
Planning and Organisational Skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work towards deadlines and manage time under supervision
* Works autonomously as the situation requires
Communication
* Able to communicate clearly verbally and electronically with the pharmacy team and service users
* Demonstrates approachability and teamwork
Experience
* Proven experience working within a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to use automated electronic systems
* Knowledge of stock control systems
* Prioritises workload
* Demonstrates problem‑solving approach to stock discrepancies
* Experience working with PPE and COSHH requirements
