Site Engineer
The Role
This site‑based role is part of @one Alliance, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. You will report to the site management team and take ownership of engineering works on site, contributing to planning, ensuring timely and cost‑effective completion, and managing day‑to‑day quality assurance.
You will also assist with health, safety, and environmental management and support the development of graduate/apprentice engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day site quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks, and approvals.
* Support programme, quality, and budget assurance.
* Generate temporary works design briefs to the standards accepted by the Temporary Works Coordinator.
* Review designs and raise technical queries to design teams.
* Generate, review, and submit red‑line drawings and produce a 3‑month look‑ahead for sections.
* Update the project 4‑week look‑ahead program weekly for your section and coordinate clashes with other site works.
* Identify delays and propose mitigation measures.
* Understand design specifications and drawings for your section.
* Produce Inspection and Test Plans and ensure implementation, records, and digital storage.
* Manage material approvals and ensure quality records are captured and stored correctly.
* Generate Non‑Conformance Records and close them out promptly.
* Minimise waste by ordering required materials to optimise performance.
* Support the Site Manager with material take‑offs, stock control, and liaise with procurement to avoid unauthorised orders.
* Monitor and maintain compliance with the Working Time Directive.
* Maintain and promote health and safety standards to enable a zero‑accident culture.
* Generate and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements for works.
* Complete safety inspections and close out actions.
* Deliver pre‑start shift briefings covering all work areas.
* Encourage and promote near‑miss reporting and ensure close‑outs are delivered and fed back.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory safety monitoring equipment and company procedures.
* Maintain highest health and safety standards on your section of the project.
* Ensure team and suppliers respect the values of @one and the public environment.
Essential
* HND in Civil Engineering or HNC Civil Engineering Technician Level 4, or equivalent.
* Understanding of CAD & BIM proficiency.
* CSCS Card.
* 3‑day First Aid.
Desirable
o Water/Wastewater experience.
o EUSR Card.
