Performance Intelligence Director About the Role We are looking for a Director of Performance Intelligence to elevate how performance data drives decision-making across our agency and client portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, commercial strategy, and optimisation. It exists to transform complex performance data into clear, compelling narratives, through great story telling, and decisive recommendations that improve marketing effectiveness and media investment outcomes. You will lead the development of a high-impact Performance Intelligence capability, that improves the speed, quality, and commercial impact of optimisation decisions. You will also shape how AI is embedded into performance analysis workflows, ensuring technology accelerates insight while human judgement shapes the story and the action. This is not a reporting role. It is a performance leadership role focused on clarity, conviction, and commercial impact, and bringing to life stories and insights through the analysis of post campaign data. What You Will Do Own the interpretation and narrative layer of performance across key clients and investment moments Translate complex datasets into clear, persuasive performance stories that drive action Establish best practice frameworks for performance interrogation (e.g. what changed, why, what next) Lead the development of AI-augmented analytics workflows to accelerate signal detection and insight generation Identify inefficiencies, inflection points, and optimisation opportunities before they become issues Shape how performance narratives are presented internally and in client conversations Partner with planning, activation, data, and effectiveness teams to ensure insights convert into decisions Create repeatable intelligence outputs (e.g. performance briefs, anomaly alerts, optimisation memos) Raise the quality bar for analytical rigour and narrative clarity across the agency Support senior client conversations with confident, evidence-based performance perspectives What We’re Looking For Experience Significant experience in performance analytics, growth analytics, commercial intelligence, or digital performance strategy A strong track record of converting data into clear, compelling narratives that influence decisions Experience operating in fast-moving, data-rich environments (e-commerce, SaaS, digital media, performance marketing, fintech, etc.) Exposure to AI-enabled analytics tools and automation workflows Strong client-facing or senior stakeholder experience Skills & Attributes Commercially minded and outcome-oriented Able to move from data to decision with clarity and conviction Strong storyteller who simplifies complexity without oversimplifying insight Comfortable forming and defending a point of view Curious about AI and automation, with a practical mindset about application High standards for analytical rigour and narrative precision Comfortable operating with ambiguity and imperfect information What Success Looks Like Performance discussions that are focused, structured, and action-oriented Evolution of reporting processes and visualisation based on needs and opportunity Data translated into narratives that influence senior stakeholders Faster optimisation cycles driven by clear insight AI meaningfully accelerating analysis without diluting judgement Demonstrable commercial impact from insight-led recommendations Engagement with and adoption of performance analytics function, leading to agency commercial growth About the Agency: MG OMD was established in 1990 as a challenger media agency (Manning Gottlieb Media) that placed craft, trust and performance at the heart of media planning and buying. ​ Since joining Omnicom network’s OMG (Omnicom Media Group) in 1998, we have continued to retain our founding ethos of providing clients with bespoke approaches, unprecedented insight, specialism, security and transparency; helping our clients to use media to unlock their competitive advantage and deliver innovative, effective and award-winning work and campaigns that create difference that matters.​ MG OMD is the second-largest media agency in the UK. Our standard working hours are 9:30 – 17:30, but we offer the ability to flex around core hours of 10:30 – 16:30 to give our people flexibility on how they manage their working day, whether that’s in the office or working remotely. For example, you could start work at 8:30 and finish at 16:30 or start at 10:30 and finish at 18:30.
