Managing Director, Maris Contracts Job title of those you are responsible for None General responsibility Responsible for managing and delivering high-quality written submissions for tenders, ensuring all bid documentation is well designed, on brand, accurate, engaging, and compliant with client requirements. Specific responsibilities • Manage the full bid process from initial opportunity identification through to submission and post-bid feedback • Design, write, edit, and proofread clear, persuasive, and tailored content for Pre- Qualification Questionnaires, Expressions of Interest, and tender submissions • Work collaboratively with internal departments, including Design, Operations, and Commercial, to gather relevant technical and project information • Develop and maintain a centralised bid library of standard responses, case studies, and supporting information • Ensure all submissions align with company brand, tone, and visual presentation standards • Research and analyse client requirements, scoring criteria, and previous feedback to continuously improve quality and consistency • Support in creating client-facing documents such as capability statements, proposal documents, and project brochures • Support with writing and designing content for marketing, social media and website • Maintain and update company information on procurement and bid portals • Attend and contribute to internal review meetings to plan and monitor live and upcoming bids • Meet tight deadlines and ensure all bid materials are delivered to a consistently high standard • To comply with all company policies and procedures that relate to anti-bribery, quality, environment and health and safety. Skills / experience required • Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills with a strong command of the English language • Minimum of three years’ experience in a graphic design, bid writing or bid coordination role, ideally within the construction sector • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids concurrently • Highly proficient in InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat / Creative Suite • Experience managing content on bid portals and procurement platforms (Contracts Advance, Find a Tender, etc.) Job Description Bid Writer • Creative approach to producing visually engaging and compelling written submissions • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail and accuracy • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team • Flexible and willing to work extended hours to meet critical submission deadlines • Degree-level education, ideally in English, Communications, or a related subject
