Advisory UK Controller Job ID 218240 Posted 01-May-2025 Service line Advisory Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Accounting/Finance Location(s) London - England - United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Advisory UK Controller London based About the role This role is responsible for building and managing the Controllership Function in Advisory UK&I and creating a strong organisational culture within controllership and the wider business To include: Accountability for the integrity of Advisory UK&I financial reporting and the financial management and monitoring of the internal control environment including SOX, delivering value-add management information to leadership and ensuring the integrity of numbers reported on a timely basis; - provide expertise, and challenge, to the business to help minimize financial risks and maximise opportunities; - managing reporting of results into CBRE group systems, including Onestream, Cash flow, and Balance sheet reporting; - meeting financial reporting and compliance obligations. This role is important to providing the correct tone at the top with regards to accounting in the organsisation and relevant & timely financial information to the Executive Leadership of the business to enable a balanced and objective assessment of the UK and Ireland's strategy and objectives. What you will be doing: - Implementation of Finance Target Operating Model in UK&I by identifying the roles and responsibilities of controllership, as well as developing a scalable model to execute these responsibilities. - Ensuring integrity of financial statements under US GAAP and local GAAPs as well as ensuring SOX compliance. - Build and develop high level relationships with business and functional leaders, customers and external agencies (e.g. auditors). - Drive month-end close timetable to meet Group reporting requirements, ensuring this is communicated to all stakeholders, including Shared Service Centre (SSC). - Balance Sheet integrity for management and statutory reporting including understanding what is driving variances in the respective balance sheet accounts - Ensure proper balance sheet reconciliations are carried out and reviewed for all entities in line with the local risk assessments and corporate policy. - Roll out of group wide US GAAP policies and support the global leadership in roll our of strategic finance initiatives in EMEA - Supporting Treasury with Cash Flow forecast and Cash management (as required). - Support Tax team with direct and indirect tax compliance as well as with tax audits. - Collaboration with FP&A on budgeting and forecast. - Leading payroll accounting team. - Identification of additional processes to be offshored as well as setting up the offshoring teams in Shared Service Locations. - Support with M&A transactions including due diligence, accounting for business combination as well as integration. What you will need: - US CPA or Chartered Accountant with 10 big 4 experience reaching at least a Director Level in the Assurance or Risk Function. - 10 years of Industry Experience leading a controllership team of 20 in US based company with the focus on US GAAP reporting and statutory compliance. - Experience in management of shared service centers responsible for OTC, P2P and R2R processes out of Malaysia, India, or Poland. - Experience in management of regional treasury, payroll, and tax teams and supporting of regulatory audits. - Experience in FP&A, performance improvements and internal audit is of an advantage. - Ability and experience in management of group and statutory audits resolving operational and accounting issues with the auditors. - Strong project management skills.
