Overview
We are looking for a passionate fresh take on our Bait Cabin Café. We are looking to develop our menu for the upcoming season. New ideas, creativity and hard work ethic are essential for this role.
Amenities are limited so fully takeaway/street-food concepts are a must for our location.
Candidates should have of managerial experience and be hungry to learn and develop as a key member of our team. Transport is essential for this role; however, we can offer accommodation close to site for permanent contracted staff. You will be expected to work weekends and school holidays due to our business being in the tourism industry. Seasonal staff will be required in peak season, management, communication, and training of new members of the team will be required and expected if you.
Quality work and positive attitudes are a must have and support from the team will be provided.
Duties
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all meals are prepared to the highest standards.
* Train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
* Plan and execute menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen.
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with café manager to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
* Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items that reflect current culinary trends.
* Ensure breakfasts are available for activity goers from 8 am during peak season.
* Be cleaned down and finished by the last activity returning from the mountain Winter 6pm summer)
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff.
* Excellent culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
