About The Role
As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising students during short term teacher absences. This can be in lessons of any subject, using the cover work set by their teacher. You DO NOT need to be a qualified teacher, although a number of people who have previously undertaken this role have used it as a stepping stone into teacher training.
You need to be able to positively interact with young people, and have the ability to motivate and challenge students to maintain a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will be involved in organising the daily cover rota and liaising with approved partners to arrange external supply staff when required. Unplanned absences (e.g., illness, emergencies) require planning and the ability to think on your feet.
