Driver Rustington, West Sussex About Us Were Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives after their sight has been affected. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have over a century of experience providing the best care to our veterans. Since then, weve provided support to tens of thousands of vision-impaired veterans, helping them to regain their independence. By providing our members with the tools and skills they need to lead a fulfilling and active life, we ensure they remain valued members of society. We are now looking for three part-time Drivers to join us on permanent basis, working 15 hours per week, Saturday - Monday. The Role As a Driver, youll provide safe and enjoyable journeys to the people using our services to and from our Rustington Centre and on journeys throughout their stay. Using a variety of vehicles, you will help create positive member experiences, ensuring a seamless service, transporting members for appointments or group outings, and focusing on safety, support and communication. As part of your role, you will: - Plan and manage routes considering passenger needs and comfort - Perform routine vehicle checks and report any issues - To provide sighted guiding when required - Assess venues for accessibility and suitability About You To be considered as a Driver, you will need: - Experience in customer service - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and intranet systems - A solution-focused approach - A clean, valid driving licence with category D1 entitlement The closing date for this role is 17 May 2025.
