CNC Machinists (Horizontal & Lathe - 3-Axis) - Wolverhampton £12.52 - £14.30 per hour PAYE 12.5% Shift (Double Days) Overtime For over a century, our client has been delivering high-quality, precision-engineered components to customers across multiple industries. We are now expanding their skilled machining team with three experienced CNC Machinists - one horizontal and two 3-axis CNC lathe setter/operators - to help us maintain the highest standards of manufacturing excellence. Key Responsibilities Prepare for machining by reviewing SOPs, work orders, technical drawings, and parts lists. Set up and operate CNC machines (horizontal machining centres or 3-axis CNC lathes) in accordance with approved procedures. Where authorised, create or modify CNC programs to optimise efficiency and accuracy. Machine a variety of precision components including rods, cylinders, and subassemblies, ensuring materials are free from defects prior to use. Conduct in-process and final inspections following company quality standards and obtain First-Off approvals as required. Maintain accurate production records including batch cards, inspection reports, and preventative maintenance logs. Perform and document routine machine maintenance, reporting issues promptly to supervision. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment in line with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures. Candidate Requirements Essential: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist (Horizontal or 3-Axis CNC Lathe Setter/Operator). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances. Competence with CNC controls and precision measurement tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges). Strong understanding of quality inspection procedures. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for own output. Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Desirable: Ability to edit or create CNC programs. Formal engineering or machining qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
