Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, a deep understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to manage and inspire a team. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of food production and presentation while ensuring a smooth operation within the kitchen.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
* Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
* Monitor inventory levels and manage stock control to minimise waste.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative cooking techniques into menu offerings.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within a care home environment.
* Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
* Extensive knowledge of food production processes, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods.
* Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in both food presentation and kitchen operations.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
