As part of that mission, we’re building our own financial infrastructure - including a global, cross-border payment system. We already process billions of dollars in payouts annually, empowering hundreds of thousands of workers and serving tens of thousands of businesses worldwide, including Nike, Klarna, Reebok, and Forever21. Now, we’re doubling down on building native financial rails to support payroll, treasury, and compliance at scale — from onboarding to settlement and look for talent to join us.
What You’ll Do
1. Collaborate in a Cross-Functional Team: Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless experiences.
2. Participate in Product Planning: From discovery to deployment, we value your input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
3. Develop and Enhance Features: Collaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve our industry-leading products. Help find and fix bugs at “Deel Speed.”
4. Provide an Exceptional, Customer-Centric Experience: Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering and attentive, customer-focused development.
5. Solve complex fintech problems: Build modern, resilient systems that power Deel’s financial infrastructure at global scale.
6. Build at scale: Design and evolve APIs, services, and infrastructure to support high-transaction volumes.
Must Have
7. Professional experience in fintech or financial domains: e.g., payments, accounting, exchanges, banking, or crypto.
8. Worked in or built systems for companies like Wise, PayPal, Stripe, Adyen, Coinbase, Revolut, or similar.
9. Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments: KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), transaction monitoring, or regulatory reporting.
What You Bring
10. Expertise in Backend Development: Strong proficiency in OOP best practices, along with experience in at least one other server-side language.
11. Database Mastery: You’re a SQL guru, particularly with PostgreSQL, handling query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling.
12. Solid Grasp of OOP and Design Patterns: Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
13. Scalability Focus: Experience in designing systems that manage rapid growth and high demand.
14. High-Volume Performance: Optimized systems for concurrency, idempotency, and large transaction volumes.
15. API Development: Skilled in input validation, JWT, and scaling APIs using queue-based systems.
16. Experience: 8+ years as a backend or full-stack engineer.
