GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a school in Derby. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of students by helping them to manage their emotions, build confidence, and re-engage with learning.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support pupils in managing their behavioural, social, and emotional needs within a school setting.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
* Implement tailored strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
* Act as a positive role model, encouraging resilience, respect, and self-confidence.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support individual progress.
* De-escalate challenging situations and help create a safe, supportive learning environment.
* Monitor and record pupil behaviour and progress to inform planning and support strategies.
Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is desirable.
* A calm, understanding, and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with explanations for any gaps.
