Facilities Project Manager Responsibilities: Meet customers’ needs from the outset and ongoing through continuous engagement and leadership of all projects within the SiXworks building construction and fit out portfolio. Planning, coordinating and managing all phases of SiXworks construction projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, fit out monitoring and closeout. Establishing project objectives, scope and deliverables in collaboration with internal and security stakeholders and ensuring alignment with client requirements. Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery. Liaising with landlords, architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Managing procurement processes, including bid evaluations, contract negotiations and vendor selection. Oversee project budgeting and cost control and manage change orders to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Conducting regular site inspections to assess project progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Maintain effective communication with SiXworks leadership team, project team members and stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns and foster strong working relationships. Additional Responsibilities Contribute to SiXworks’ strategy in the areas of winning business to ensure that the company achieves its short and long-term objectives. Maintain our focus on proofs of concepts and demonstrators whilst ensuring all our work is ‘Secure by Design’. Maintain and develop professional and technical knowledge. Build trust and long-term relationships with directors, colleagues, contract associates, suppliers, landlords and clients. Your tasks Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocations and procurement strategies. Coordinate and oversee design and construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications. Evaluate and select contractors and subcontractors based on qualifications, experience and cost-effectiveness. Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on project status to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and all legal requirements, prioritising a safe working environment for all involved. Manage construction project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings and change orders. Conduct regular meetings to facilitate communication, address challenges and to meet project objectives. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including milestones, budget updates, and any significant developments or risks or issues. Carry out thorough project evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective measures. Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. This will include: Oversee and manage the construction and fit-out process from start to finish. Ensure high-quality finishes while meeting project deadlines and budgets. Coordinate requirements and deliverables with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Implement and monitor health & safety procedures. Understanding, at an appropriate level, the relevant technology, security characteristics and solution options. Developing an understanding of customers’ operational and business environments. Directing and overseeing project team, ensuring they are engaged and motivated. Ensuring projects are delivered using the appropriate methodology. Lead and maintain robust project governance, including forecasting. Co-ordinating project contracts, schedules, resources, equipment and information. Ensuring knowledge and experience are effectively shared across projects. Ensuring project assurance is implemented and operating effectively. Understanding the capabilities, needs and intent of our employees and contract associates. Understanding the future needs of the business and focusing resourcing effort to those ends. Generating a happy, fulfilling working environment. Ensuring fair and equal treatment of all our people. Assisting with recruitment and selection. Required skills and qualifications Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction and project management. 3 years of relevant experience in construction project management, with a track record of successfully delivering high value (multi million-pound Sterling) projects on time and within budget. Significant industry experience in building construction and fitout project management. Experience working for an SME contractor or subcontractor specific with design and building construction projects. Experience as a construction project manager is preferable, but candidates with experience as a stakeholder in design and build (such as M&E) would be considered. Ability to manage and interface with senior stakeholders, both internal and with external clients and suppliers. A minimum of SC level of security clearance. Good knowledge of UK construction methodologies, building Regulations and UK Health and Safety legislation and practices as set out by HSE. Excellent project management skills, including effective planning, organising and prioritising tasks. Proficiency in understanding and interpreting technical documents, including project drawings and construction schematics. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage project teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software, project scheduling tools and cost estimation software. Highly desirable skills and qualifications Relevant professional certification in project management (Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar) or construction management equivalent. Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management, or related field. Experience of working client side in Multi Million Pound Sterling Capital Project delivery. Detailed Experience of construction and building fit out to meet UK National Security requirements. Detailed knowledge of risk management and budget management principles. Detailed knowledge of UK Commercial Building Regulations permits and approval processes. Experience with construction contract negotiations and claims management. Strong financial understanding and experience in project budgeting and cost control.
