Salary: £13.25 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Strawberry Lane School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Cleaner to join our facilities team. This role is key to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors, supporting the smooth running and success of our school.
About the Role
As a School Cleaner, you will carry out daily and ad-hoc cleaning duties to ensure all areas of the school are hygienic and welcoming. You will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and contribute to the wellbeing of our school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean surfaces, fixtures, fittings, floors, walls, and internal woodwork in line with the cleaning schedule
* Maintain toilets, changing rooms, and other sanitary areas to the highest standards
* Undertake special cleaning projects during school closures or designated periods
* Collect and dispose of waste appropriately and ensure consumables are refilled
* Keep cleaning supplies organised, secure, and easily accessible
* Operate cleaning equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance needs promptly
* Support the creation of a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment
Who We’re Looking For
* Reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic with attention to detail
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible and willing to take on additional duties as required
* Previous cleaning experience in a school or similar setting is desirable but not essential

Strawberry Lane School, located in Bowburn, Durham, is a brand-new specialist school accommodating 60 pupils aged 11–19 with a primary need of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and language needs, and often additional complex needs.
