Job Description
Northern Cancer Voices is an award-winning charity amplifying the voices of people affected by cancer. We’re looking for a strategic and organised volunteer Project Manager to help us strengthen our project delivery framework.
What difference will you make?
This role will be transformational for NCV because it introduces structure and efficiency to how projects are managed. Here’s how it helps
Why It Matters
* Creates a clear entry point for new ideas The “Front Door” process ensures every project request is assessed consistently, avoiding ad-hoc decisions and improving transparency.
* Improves planning and accountability Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) capture objectives, timelines, budgets, and risks upfront, reducing scope creep and ensuring alignment with NCV’s strategic goals.
* Enables better oversight and reporting A PMO tracking system will allow NCV to monitor all projects in one place, spot delays early, and provide accurate updates to funders and the Board—critical for compliance and future bids.
* Supports sustainability and growth Funders increasingly expect charities to demonstrate robust governance and project management. This role helps NCV meet those expectations, strengthening credibility for grants and partnerships.
* Frees up leadership time By centralising project coordination, the team can focus on engagement and delivery rather than chasing updates or managing admin.
