Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Sunderland.
This rewarding role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with their learning and complete pre-set work in a structured and positive environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning and promoting positive behaviour within the classroom.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
* Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain engaged and on task
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Support students with their learning where required
* Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
* Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
* Previous experience working with young people is desirable
* Strong communication and classroom management skills
* Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach
* Ability to engage and motivate students
* Degree or relevant school-based experience is advantageous
* Passion for education and supporting student development
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
