CAO UK (Markets and Performance Improvement) manages the market risk of RWE Generation’s fleet of approximately 7GW of thermal generation assets and a growing portfolio of about 3GW of renewables. RWEST provides a route to market for other group companies as well as third parties, with responsibility for activities in the UK short-term market.
The Codes and Connections Analyst role offers expertise in industry codes and regulations, promoting RWE’s interests through external forums, industry workgroups, and stakeholder dealings. The role also involves supporting connection applications and modifications, providing an excellent opportunity to gain industry-specific knowledge that will shape the future of the GB energy system.
* Promote RWE interests through lobbying and representation at forums across electricity, gas, and other markets
* Support connection applications and modifications processes
* Develop policy and strategy positions regarding industry codes and relevant regulations
* Prepare written consultation responses on industry codes
* Engage with stakeholders and respond to industry change proposals, assessing impacts on RWE
* Develop initiatives to mitigate regulatory risks for RWE
* Gain expertise in GB energy trading, connections, and network charging
* Maintain relationships with external stakeholders
* Possess knowledge of GB energy markets or willingness to learn
* Exhibit excellent communication and influencing skills
* Work independently and manage multiple topics
* Adapt to a changing and challenging work environment with enthusiasm and flexibility
