Looking for a flexible, remote role so you can work from anywhere in the world?
Do you have access to a good Wi-Fi connection and a laptop/desktop with webcam and audio?
Then we would like to get to know you! As a Remote Interpreter, you will facilitate communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency, working remotely via phone or video calls. You will interpret conversations accurately and efficiently, providing support in various professional settings.
Please note this is a self-employed position.
Requirements
The Job
* Interpreting between English and your native language over phone or video.
* Providing interpretation services to clients and customers with limited English proficiency.
* Interpreting for legal, health, and local government services.
* Checking the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence.
* Conducting conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
* Providing accurate, confidential, and impartial interpreting services.
* Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the Code of Conduct.
About You
* Fluent in English and another language.
* Must have the right to work in the UK.
* Age 21 or over.
* Qualifications such as:
o Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
o Community Interpreting
o NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
o Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
o Other interpreting-related qualifications
