The Governors of Aberdare Community School are seeking to appoint a Pastoral Support Assistant to work as part of our Pastoral Team to provide support to Progress Leaders and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
Ideally, you will:
1. Be skilled at building excellent relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
2. Be enthusiastic, imaginative, and reflective.
3. Have experience of working with parents and carers.
4. Have experience of working with other professionals and external agencies.
5. Be trained in ELSA, Trauma Informed Practice, or be prepared to undertake necessary training.
6. Have good literacy, numeracy, and I.C.T skills.

The school opened in the summer of 2015 and is part of the 21st Century school building program in RCT. Our facilities include modern science laboratories, a Science Lecture Theatre, and state-of-the-art computer and technology facilities. The school is attached to the Sobell Leisure Centre, offering extensive opportunities for pupils, including an all-weather playing facility and a newly opened athletics stadium.
