We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Obstetric Sonographer to join our ultrasound. As the Lead Obstetric Sonographer, you will be responsible for overseeing our ultrasound services for pregnant patients, leading a team of dedicated sonographers, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sonographers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
2. Collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information.
3. Provide patient education and support during ultrasound procedures, addressing questions and concerns.
4. Stay updated with advances in ultrasound technology and techniques, implementing best practices.
5. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
6. Developing and updating departmental policies and procedures.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

14. Perform obstetric ultrasound examinations, including fetal anatomy scans, growth assessments, and Doppler studies.
15. Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, ensuring safety and optimal performance.
16. Keep accurate and detailed patient records, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.

This job attracts a recruitment and retention premium of 10%.

17. Has either HCP, NMC or other registration pertinent to role

Knowledge, skills and experience

18. CASE accredited ultrasound qualification
19. FASP license - FASP accredited level 7 qualification in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound
20. Significant experience in writing policies, procedures and protocols
21. Knowledge of broader healthcare economy
22. Up-to-date with latest evidence and best practice guidance for obstetric ultrasound
23. Has experience in managing complaints and investigating incidents
