We are looking for a Bar Manager to join the Catering and Retail Services Office at the House of Lords. This position will be based in the Woolsack Bar where you will manage all aspects of service delivery, including daily operations, management of staff, product development, marketing, administration and financial management. Youll be accountable to: Manage, develop and sustain the business maximising revenue opportunities, ensuring all related operational costs are controlled to generate net contribution. Develop a pro-active marketing strategy for the bar to maximise financial contribution of the department within CRS. Ensure that the daily service delivery for all operations is carried out to the highest standards at all times. Display pro-active management of the bar team, ensuring objectives are set, standard operating procedures are carried out and monitored. Ensure the highest standards of customer care are achieved when communicating with customers and third parties at every stage. Ensure that correct House procedures and protocols are maintained at all times, including active management of access criteria set for the bar. What were looking for: Excellent Customer service skills. Experience in the Hospitality industry. Strong Organisational skills. It would be even better if you had or if youre willing to learn Intermediate food safety qualifications. Personal licence qualification. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact well at all levels. Commercially astute with a focus on maximising sales and profitability whilst still meeting customer requirements. The ability to establish credible and professional relationships with staff/services at all levels. Competent in the use of IT including experience of using EPOS systems, good knowledge of MS Office and the internet. Tact, discretion and the ability to work quickly under pressure.
