We are seeking a flexible and dependable General Cover Teacher to join a dedicated school team and provide high-quality cover across a range of subjects and year groups. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a General Cover Teacher:
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
* Ensure continuity of learning and maintain high standards of teaching and behaviour.
* Adapt quickly to different subjects and year groups as required.
* Supervise pupils, manage the classroom effectively, and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
* Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.
* Liaise with teaching and support staff to ensure that pupils remain on track.
* Provide feedback to relevant staff on pupil progress or any issues arising during cover.
Ideal General Cover Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Ability to teach confidently across multiple subjects and year groups (usually KS3 & KS4).
* Strong classroom management skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills as a General Cover Teacher.
* Flexible, adaptable, and reliable approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Previous experience in a cover or supply role is desirable but not essential.
