As a Commis, you will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
* Support team management by collaborating effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
* Participate in food production activities, including chopping, marinating, and plating dishes.
* Follow recipes accurately and contribute to menu development by suggesting improvements or new ideas.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
* Provide excellent service during meal times, assisting with serving as required.
Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience is essential; experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
* A strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
* Culinary experience with a willingness to learn new cooking techniques.
* Supervising experience or team management skills would be advantageous.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
