Leader Education are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and inclusive SEND school in Peterlee. This specialist setting provides outstanding education and support for children and young people aged 2–19, creating an environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive, achieve and grow in confidence. As part of a supportive and experienced team, you will play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, valued and empowered within their learning journey. You’ll support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them develop independence, build positive relationships and achieve meaningful academic and social progress. What we’re looking for: We’re seeking someone who is patient, empathetic and passionate about inclusive education. The ideal candidate will have: Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within a school or SEND setting A good understanding of additional learning needs and inclusive practices Strong communication and teamwork skills A positive, proactive and nurturing approach A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people Experience supporting pupils with autism and/or complex needs would be highly beneficial, particularly if you have used alternative communication methods.
