We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Operator to join our clients growing team, producing high-quality transmission components for a respected engineering company based in Harlow, Essex. This hands-on role involves setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes, with a focus on short-to-medium batch work. You'll need to be confident working independently and flexible enough to support other machining operations when needed. Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, with start times of either 6:00 AM (finish at 4:00 PM) or 7:00 AM (finish at 5:00 PM) — offering a great work-life balance with long weekends. CNC Operator Key Responsibilities: * Independently set and operate 2-axis CNC lathes with minimal supervision * Manufacture components to precise specifications for transmission systems * Adapt to different machinery as required to support production demand or cover staff absences * Produce high-quality parts in short and medium batch quantities * Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards * Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet daily targets What We're Looking For: * Proven experience operating and setting 2-axis CNC lathes * Ability to work independently and manage your own machine setup * Flexibility to assist on other machines where necessary * A proactive and reliable team player with a strong work ethic * Willingness to work overtime when required * Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems is desirable, though not essential What We Offer: * Competitive salary, based on experience * Stable working hours with a four-day week (Mon–Thurs) * 25 days paid holiday per year (plus bank holidays) * Supportive working environment with long-term career potential * Opportunity to work with a well-established and reputable engineering team If you’re an experienced CNC Operator looking for a secure, rewarding role in a quality-driven environment — we’d love to hear from you.
