Job Title: Fabricator Welder Supervisor
Role Objective:
This role reports to the Works Manager or Foreman and is responsible for producing high-quality, cost-effective fabrications in support of the business, for both new and used machinery, based on drawings and sketches as applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate stainless and mild steel sheets and sections.
2. Perform welding using MIG, TIG, and Manual Metal Arc techniques.
3. Cut manually with Plasma and Flame cutting methods.
4. Weld to insurance standards (BS5500/ BS EN 286), with competence measured by in-house testing (for Coded Welders).
5. Translate drawn requirements into manufactured components efficiently.
6. Follow written manufacturing instructions.
7. Coordinate with fabricators/welders and other staff to optimize production efficiency.
8. Maintain a clean and organized workspace suitable for an open workshop environment.
9. Use appropriate hand-held and powered tools and equipment for tasks.
10. Collaborate with staff, supervisors, and management to ensure parts availability.
Additional skills include cutting, marking out, squaring off, bending, and proficiency with guillotine, rolls, brake press, and hand tools.
Educational Qualifications:
Minimum academic requirements: City & Guilds / B Tech First Certificate / NVQ Level 2.
