Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company procedures.
Duties
* Carry out MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
* Inspect vehicle components including brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
* Complete detailed inspection reports and communicate findings clearly to customers.
* Maintain accurate records of all inspections performed.
* Assist with minor repairs or adjustments if required, adhering to safety protocols.
* Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly.
* Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all testing procedures.
Skills
* Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail to identify faults accurately during inspections.
* Good organisational skills to manage multiple vehicle tests efficiently.
* Effective communication skills for explaining inspection results clearly to customers.
* Previous experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; relevant training will be provided for the right candidate. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to advance their career within the automotive industry while ensuring vehicles meet safety standards through meticulous testing and inspection procedures.
* Experience with tyres is a bonus but not essential
