An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Health Improvement team in Argyll and Bute. Working within Argyll and Bute HSCP's Public Health Department, this post will deliver on national and locally identified health priorities. Initially, these priorities will relate to sexual health promotion including:
* Supporting partners to gain knowledge and deliver initiatives which address the prevention of poor sexual health and BBVs and which reduce stigma and discrimination, particularly around HIV.
* Engaging with higher risk groups and providing support for community based sexual health initiatives including Pride events and Speakeasy training.
* Support sexual health promotion initiatives
In addition, the post will also be responsive to local and changing priorities and may deliver on other prevention, inequality-focused and community interventions.
Excellent communication and partnership skills are needed to build partnerships and develop relationships with HSCP staff, our third sector partners and community stakeholders.
Experience of working within the NHS with a background in Health Improvement/sexual health is advantageous.
Base negotiable within Argyll & Bute HSCP. A driving licence is required.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
