We operate an extensive in-house fleet of modern, fully maintained high-tech plant and machinery, all serviced in our on-site garage at our Trafford Park Head Office.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Trafford Park for a HGV Technician. As part of our garage team, the HGV technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and regular servicing of various heavy construction and earthmoving equipment.
Typical duties will include:
Maintaining the HGV fleet.
Carrying out weekly inspections.
MOT preparation and inspection.
General defects and vehicle wear and tear maintenance.
Supporting wider garage operations as needed.
Additional responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the equipment operates efficiently and safely for on-site operations. The role requires adherence to safety standards and collaboration with the team to ensure deadlines are met effectively.
Qualifications
Strong skills in equipment maintenance and vehicle maintenance
Proficiency in equipment repair and working with heavy equipment
Experience in diagnosing faults and performing troubleshooting
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on construction equipment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Requirements
5 years' experience in a similar role (essential)
Class 1 HGV licence (preferred)
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards
