The successful candidate will play an integral role in driving engagement across the business and building long-standing relationships with your key stakeholders.
What does the role of People Advisor look like day to day?
* Provide expert HR guidance and support to managers and colleagues across a wide range of topics, ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and best practice.
* Be the main point of contact for managers, providing support on everything from probationary reviews, performance management, absence management, and more.
* Support managers in navigating employee cases, offering practical and people-centred solutions.
* Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by working with managers across the business to ensure equal opportunities, colleague development, and engagement are at the heart of what we do.
* Ensure our policies and procedures are fit for purpose and aligned with our values and objectives.
* Lead or support projects inspired by your passions, such as Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Rewards and Benefits, Employee Engagement, TUPE, Organisational Change, and new business initiatives.
* Support and manage our benefit offerings, working closely with the Senior People Partner and benefits administrator to ensure schemes are competitive and meet colleagues' needs, processing benefits accurately and efficiently.
* Analyze HR data to provide solutions for HR or operational projects.
* Stay updated on employment law and regulations, ensuring effective implementation of any changes.
The role is primarily remote, but you will be required to attend our Cardiff or Newport office when needed.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
* A team player capable of building strong relationships and collaborating effectively.
* Comfortable working remotely and independently.
* Experience as a HR Advisor or similar role.
* Excellent communication and coaching skills.
* A genuine passion for colleague experience and engagement.
* A People Person who enjoys working with colleagues at all levels, from Customer Service Executives to the Exco Board.
* Resilient, adaptable, and open to change.
* Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Strong understanding of employment law.
* Understanding of Payroll processing is desirable to support the People Officer when needed.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience in:
* Handling employee relations issues and cases.
* Report writing and Management Information.
* Implementing HR projects or initiatives.
* Developing and improving policies and processes.
* Applying changes in employment law.
* Using HR systems to extract management information.
* Advising managers effectively.
